Isaiah 16:11

Isaiah 16 deals more with the destruction f Moab by the hand of the Assyrians. As with the previous chapter, in this chapter we find a special look at God’s mind as he deals out this judgment.

Therefore my heart shall resound like a harp for Moab,
And my inner being for Kir Heres’. (Isaiah 16:11)

The message is simple but profound. While dealing out this extensive judgment, God feels extreme love for these people who have done everything they could against Him. God is love. There is not a one of us that He can not love, even whilst sending us to eternal punishment. And thus it says, ‘My heart shall resound like a harp’. What beautiful words.

If God can have such love for you and other people when they are His pure enemies, can we not spare a little love for those around us, when in truth all they do against us are small things, if that? Can we not help those who hinder us, bless those who curse us, strengthen those who slander us? For our hearts should resound like harps for all those around us who have not yet come to know God.
